Abstract |
A new genus and two new species of Mynogleninae are described from Borneo, East Malaysia: Asiafroneta, new genus, with Asiafroneta pallida, new species, as the type species, and A. atrata, new species. The new genus seems to be especially similar to Parafroneta Blest, 1979, a speciose genus from New Zealand. The new species are closely related to each other and resemble both P. marrineri (Hogg, 1909) and P. minuta Blest, 1979, but differ well by the significantly smaller size, the peculiar leg chaetotaxy formulae, and a few details of genitalic structure. The subfamily Mynogleninae is thereby recorded from the Oriental Region for the first time. |

Abstract |
The Asian arowana is an introduced species that is believed to be breeding in some local reservoirs (Ng & Tan, 2010). The present example appears to be a domesticated variety with golden scales. It is a more colourful fish compared to the specimen obtained at Pangsua pond (Tan, 2014) |

Abstract |
The Asian arowana has been recorded as a non-native species in Singapore’s reservoirs and urban ponds (Ng & Tan, 2010; Kwik et al., 2013; Tan, 2014). Juveniles have also been recently sighted in a forest stream at Lower Peirce (Baker, 2013). The present example is likely to have swum into the swamp forest from the Upper Seletar Reservoir where it was probably born of feral parents. As it is not a hatchling (usually 5 to 6 cm in standard length), this juvenile is likely to have preyed on small native fishes in the stream. This is the first record of the Asian arowana in Nee Soon swamp forest |

Abstract |
The Asian arowana has been recorded as a non-native species in Singapore’s reservoirs (Ng & Tan, 2010). The present observation is listed in a report on the fish fauna of urban storm-water ponds (Kwik et al., 2013), and the fish in question is most likely an abandoned pet |
