Abstract |
In Singapore, Draco quinquefasciatus occurs in the forests of Bukit Timah and Central Catchment Nature Reserves. It is regarded as a locally endangered species that may be threatened by forest degradation (Lim et al., 2008: 169). A recent record from the Mandai area (Serin, 2015) and the present observation show that it is found in young secondary forest. |

Abstract |
The flagfin wrasse is often difficult to detect due to its cryptic habits and good camouflage colouration. It is widespread in the Indo-west Pacific from the Red Sea and East Africa eastwards through the East Indian region, the Philippines and Western Australia (Allen & Erdmann, 2012: 717). In Singapore, this species is sometimes encountered in weedy intertidal areas, but it has not been recorded from the Semakau Landfill area (Ng, 2012: 146). |
