Abstract |
Members of the genus Pseudohelice Sakai, Türkay & Yang, 2006 (family Varunidae) inhabit estuaries and high intertidal zone with sediments composed of mud and sand in tropical to temperate regions. Previous studies showed only one species, Pseudohelice subquadrata (Dana, 1851) in this genus, with a wide distribution in the Indo-West Pacific. In the present study, the species from the western Indian Ocean is shown to be a valid species, Pseudohelice latreillii (H. Milne Edwards, 1837), based on morphological and molecular evidence. The latter species had previously been incorrectly synonymised with Helice tridens (De Haan, 1835). The two species are very similar to each other in morphology, but can be distinguished by a suite of characters, including the structures of the infraorbital ridges in both sexes, male gonopods 1 and female vulvae. Based on the molecular evidence from cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (COI), P. subquadrata and P. latreillii form two well-supported clades, and the intraspecific and interspecific divergences of COI are 0–1.9% and 3.3%–5.1%, respectively. Geographically, P. subquadrata is distributed in the western Pacific while P. latreillii occurs in the western Indian Ocean. |

Abstract |
The chedimine genus Boagrius Simon, 1893 (including only two species), is reviewed. The genus and its type species B. pumilus Simon, 1893, are rediagnosed and redescribed; the male of this species is described for the first time. The range of the genus is reconsidered as restricted only to South-Eastern Asia. Based on the structure of both the male palp and somatic characters, East African B. incisus Tullgren, 1910, is transferred to Scelidocteus Simon, 1907, as S. incisus (Tullgren, 1910), new combination. Additionally, B. simoni, new species, is described from the north-eastern part of Borneo. |

Abstract |
Alien invaders are emerging as an important driver of biodiversity changes. Using three introduced parrot species as case studies, viz. Cacatua goffiniana, Cacatua sulphurea, and Psittacula alexandri, this review suggests that alien birds in Singapore are poorly studied and much of their ecological impacts remain undocumented. Although, these parrots do not appear to have caused apparent ecological impacts, they have the potential to pose problems in the long-term. This paper finally discusses possible management inventions to address exotic species in Singapore. |

Abstract |
The Vietnamese members of the genus Schistoloma are reviewed, and a checklist of all Schistolomaspecies is provided. Five species are recognised from Vietnam, including Schistoloma maydelineae new species, from Khánh Hoà Province. It is can be distinguished from all of its congeners by the strongly ribbed, conical shell and a white, conspicuous suture. Pinteria croesus Varga, 1972 is a synonym of Schistoloma inermis (Bavay & Dautzenberg, 1909). The latter species is recorded from China, Yunnan Province, for the first time. The Philippine Schistoloma subspecies of Bartsch are all considered synonyms of the nominotypical forms. |
